When searching for a new home, buyers are often looking for the best value for the best price. At Thomsen Homes, we strive for excellence in offering the most value in each of our homes.
What Value Means To Us
We don’t use the word value lightly. We ensure that every client has a completed home upon closing. That means a finished sod yard, deck or patio, upgraded LP siding and appliances, all included. This is the part where your house becomes a home.
We also pride ourselves on our professional team and customer service. Are building worries keeping you up at night? Send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Have a question about your new home after moving in? Send our client relations team your question and their response is par none.
New Exterior Options
Last month, we announced our new exterior home plan options. Our creative team is always one step ahead and created four different exterior options that you can select when building a new home. From modern, craftsman, colonial and traditional, these exterior home plan options help ease the design process of building your new home.

Contemporary with a touch of lux, introducing the Modern exterior home plan option. Modern homes are increasing in popularity, especially in the Fargo/Moorhead and Grand Forks areas. If you are someone who wants an eye-catching exterior home, the Modern exterior home plan will add the curb appeal you’ve been looking for! Check out our new exterior home plan options including the Modern option for all our home plans. From our 2180 bi-level to 2086 2 story, the Modern exterior option is the minimalist look you’ve been searching for.
Our Modern exterior home plan features a lux look with a bold exterior, with clean lines and the use of industrial materials. The Modern emphasizes rectangular forms, horizontal and vertical lines, and traditional materials used in new ways. Materials such as sleek stucco, wood and brick are used to reflect a modern aesthetic. Traditional horizontal siding is replaced with vertical board and batten, used in large planes. Brickwork is simplified and used rectilinear as accents to the exterior. Modern exterior colors typically include mushroom tones, dark grays, black, white and varnished wood. Modern homes utilize their surroundings to mimic the exterior by including greenery and large rocks to add to their curb appeal. Continue the modern look inside your home with an open floor plan concept to compliment your lifestyle.

Annual Home and Garden Show
It is that time of year again to visit the Red River Valley Home and Garden Show 2018. This year the Thomsen Homes booth (425) will have a new look with some interactive fun, a surprise giveaway and new things to talk about! If you stopped by our booth last year you will remember the gravity booth. Well let’s just say you won’t want to miss out for this year!
Got the kiddos? Bring them by the home show and get them signed up for the Lego competition! Ages 5 to 12 will compete in building a house out of Legos and will be judged on creativity, structure and livability. A member from our Thomsen team will be on the judging panel this year so make sure you say hello.
New this year we have partnered with Bully Brew here in Fargo and will have sample coffee as a little pick me up as you walk through the show. Beat the cold and get out of the house for some inspiration and fun!
We’re already two weeks into the new year and it’s hard to believe January is half way over! Looking back at 2017, it was an exciting year for Thomsen Homes. Here’s a quick 2017 recap of some of the things we accomplished.
In 2017, we released four new floor plans, including our 1805 1 1/2 story, 2585 2 story, 1439 rambler and our 1706 rambler. During the summer, we announced our new Level of Value by including a sod yard, appliances, deck or patio, and LP SmartSide siding in every one of our homes.
This fall, Thomsen Homes expanded to Grand Forks! Bringing our Affordable Luxury homes in the development of Crary Sixth Addition definitely makes one of our top moments for 2017. Here’s a look at our three model homes in Grand Forks:
February was the Red River Valley Home & Garden Show where we featured our dining room gravity booth. (You better come see us at the 2018 Home & Garden Show to see what crazy booth we have planned for this year!)
We were very excited to meet Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman at the Eco Chic Design Conference. Not only did we help with the event by sponsorship, we also featured our gravity booth.
The summer brought us several golf outings with the HBA and FM Realtors. Don’t forget about the successful Thomsen Homes Backyard BBQ!
As a team, we have many favorite moments of the year, but our top favorite moment was volunteering for the Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity Hero Build 2017. The #ThomsenGiveBack program was started in 2017 and our team is very appreciative of the opportunity to give back to our community.
Another favorite moment is being able to volunteer at the Great Plains Food Bank. From bagging potatoes to volunteering at their Back Pack program, the small amount of time we give makes a big impact to our community.
This November was the 2nd annual ‘Stache Bash, which was another favorite moment! During the month of November, for every contract signed, Thomsen Homes donated $500 to the Movember Foundation. We celebrated with a bash in Grand Forks and Fargo, raising even more money during the bash!
Thanks for following along on our crazy and exciting ride in 2017. We are very excited about the year ahead and have big things in store for 2018!

2017 has been a great year for the Thomsen team in partnering with some wonderful organizations to give back. Being able to support these organizations within our community has been so rewarding and has given our team some great insight on how we can help to do more within the communities we serve. Two big projects that have stood out this year are the Hero Build through Habitat for Humanity and the Great Plains BackPack program.
The Thomsen team could not have been more excited to spend the day volunteering for the Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity Hero Build 2017. The site where the new home is being built is the same area where Fargo police officer Jason Moszer was shot and killed just over a year ago. A day that rattled the Fargo- Moorhead community and a place associated with so much tragedy has now been given a second chance and will be a new home that will help bring joy and healing to the community.
Danielle John and her family will soon make this house their home. As a sex trafficking survivor, she has since devoted her career to helping others rebuild and overcome their pain. A project focused on healing, and paying it forward, many in the community have come together to make this Hero Build a success. Rachel Moszer the widow of Officer Moszer has spent many hours helping alongside the Fargo Police department in building process.
Walking through the home you will find heartfelt written messages to Danielle and her family on the wood beams throughout the house. After speaking with Danielle she let us know that she was taking photos of the kind words and going to make a collage or book of them to keep as they are covered by the sheetrock walls. The Thomsen team was so very fortunate to be a part of such an amazing project in the community. Below are highlights from the day.
Great Plains Food Bank BackPack Program
We are proud to partner with Great Plains Food Bank and take the time to volunteer at their facility and help fund the BackPack Program which is designed to send food home with children who may not have enough. Addressing hunger has been one of Thomsen Homes give back initiatives for this year and the BackPack Program was a great fit. The Thomsen team spent the day putting together the food bags that would be distributed to children throughout the state.
We want to thank our clients in supporting Thomsen Homes in this initiative. Without you this would not be possible. Thank you for your help in the fight to end hunger! Below are highlights from the day.
We are not sure what 2018 has in-store but are excited to continue to support our communities and GIVE BACK!
