POSITION SUMMARY

Thomsen Homes is one of the largest single-family home builders in the state, locally owned and operating in the Fargo and Grand Forks areas. We are currently seeking a Senior Architectural Drafter to join our Design and Drafting team in Fargo, ND. The individual needs to share our core values of integrity, drive, innovation, loyalty and is family oriented. A high-quality candidate for this position should possess prior experience in residential drafting, team and project management, in-depth knowledge of Revit drafting software, good Excel/Office skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the drafting team
• Develop and implement best practices for house plan optimization and improvement
• Update standard plan templates and develop new plans as needed
• Evaluate workload and disperse amongst the drafting team as necessary to achieve the required outcomes
• Prepare architectural drawings during client design meetings (elevations, floor plans, site plans) using Revit
• Ensure all plan changes are done in a timely manner, and logged for future reference
• Communicate changes to internal and external team members
• Update project plans and templates in accordance with building codes
• Ensure timely submission and receipt of all required permit documents
• Oversee other duties or projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 3-5 years of residential construction drafting experience
• 3 years minimum of experience using Revit drafting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Experience with other drafting or design programs such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Capable of developing and improving upon team processes
• Ability to problem-solve and to develop alternate solutions
• Knowledge of residential construction requirements, best practices, building materials and methods
• Ability to consistently meet goals and deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams/sub-contractors/vendors
• Can-do attitude
• Desire to work with a growing company
