Title: Purchasing & Estimating Manager

Reports to: Director of Purchasing & Estimating
FSLA Status: Exempt
Location: On-site
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Manager schedules, directs, and coordinates team members involved in purchasing
products, materials, and services while overseeing assigned documents and processes associated with
Purchasing & Estimating.
What you’ll do:
• Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising team members, and delegating tasks
• Rockstar at knowing, understanding, and communicating margins by plan type and trade partner
• Ability to communicate exactly what’s needed and expected from a trade partner
• Collaborate with Director and implement purchasing strategies
• Continuously seek ways to reduce construction cost and streamline processes
• Procure trade partners and assist with contract negotiation
• Assist with managing key trade partner relationships
• Procure and manage construction materials
• Manage rebate programs
• Review and approve a subset of trade invoicing
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge, staying current on industry standards and best
practices
• Accountable for contract change management
• Anything else necessary to help the company meet its goals
• Create and maintain:
o Commodity database and price comparisons
o Option/Upgrade database
o Site specific budget files
o Cost variance processes
o Department KPIs
About you:
• Education & Experience:
o Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
o 5+ Years of Construction experience. Prefer 7+
o 3+ Years of managing teams. Prefer 5+
o Intermediate with Microsoft Excel. Advanced a plus.
o ERP experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds at times
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
• May require travel for meetings with trades and vendors and construction site verifications
